1) Virat Kohli

As the IPL proceeded and the COVID-19 problem became a problem, Virat Kohli used the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s social media channels to spread awareness about personal cleanliness, the significance of wearing a mask, and maintaining social distance. He started a crowdfunding effort and donated Rs 2 crore to buy oxygen concentrators and medical equipment. In just seven days, the joint effort with Anushka Sharma generated Rs 11.38 crore.

2) Brett Lee

Brett Lee, a former Australian pacer, chose to give one bitcoin (about Rs 40 lakh) to aid India’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. He stated, “Now is the time to be united and ensure we do as much as we can to help the ones in need. I’d also want to thank all the frontline workers who have been working round the clock during these tough times.”

3) Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin, India’s top spinner, had to leave IPL 2021 midway and return home due to his entire family being quarantined. For many, his Twitter timeline became a reference point. He proved to be of great assistance to the people seeking relief information by retweeting urgent pleas for help and working with others to help the lowest members of society.

4) Laxmipathy Balaji

CSK bowling coach Lakshimapthy Balaji tested positive for COVID-19 the day before IPL 2021 was suspended. He was transported to Chennai to spent his days recovering in isolation. While he might have just focused on his rehabilitation, the former India fast bowler instead provided financial assistance to groundsmen who have been particularly badly struck by the virus.

5) Hanuma Vihari

When the situation swiftly escalated, the India Test batsman was playing county cricket in England. Vihari created WhatsApp groups with a network of volunteers to help a Telangana based team aid COVID-19 victims by providing essential contacts and medical supplies.

6) Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan stayed out of the spotlight while providing a helping hand to many in times of trouble, saying that he will be donating all of his individual prize money gathered from IPL 2021 to establishing a plasma bank. He also made a donation of INR 20 lakh for the purchase of oxygen concentrators.
