All 7 Netflix Documentaries in March 2026 — Overview

Every Documentary — Explained

1. A Friend, A Murderer (March 5)

This chilling Danish true crime series hits close to home — literally. Set in a tight-knit community, it follows the horrifying discovery that a series of assaults, a kidnapping, and a murder were committed by someone within a friend group. When Amanda, Nichlas, and Kiri learn the perpetrator was one of their closest friends, the trauma cuts deeper than any stranger ever could. It’s a haunting exploration of how well we truly know the people around us — and it will make you rethink everything. Fans of The Tinder Swindler will feel right at home.

2. The Dinosaurs (March 6)

Executive produced by Steven Spielberg and narrated by Morgan Freeman — yes, really — The Dinosaurs is a four-part nature series that takes viewers on an immersive journey through the Mesozoic Era, spanning 165 million years of prehistoric history. Powered by the latest palaeontology research and stunning CGI, this is the definitive documentary experience for anyone who grew up loving Jurassic Park. Whether you’re 8 or 80, this one’s going to blow your mind. Check out our full Jurassic World Netflix guide on TechnoSports for everything dinosaur-related landing on Netflix this month.

3. The TikTok Killer (March 6)

Set in Spain in 2023, this two-episode docu-series follows the disappearance of 42-year-old Esther Estepa after she met up with a TikTok travel creator known as “Dynamite” Montilla. The case unfolds through archival footage and intimate interviews, revealing a dark past hidden behind cheerful social media videos. It’s a sobering reminder that viral fame and real danger can coexist — and that the internet doesn’t always show you who someone truly is.

4. Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere (March 11)

After more than 50 documentaries made predominantly for the BBC, legendary filmmaker Louis Theroux makes his first-ever Netflix Original with this feature-length doc. Directed by Adrian Choa, Theroux travels to the United States to immerse himself in the world of extreme online influencers reshaping modern masculinity. In his signature non-confrontational style, he listens, observes, and even interviews women who support these ideologies. It’s uncomfortable, necessary, and unmissable.

5. The Plastic Detox (March 16)

Directed by Louie Psihoyos (You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment), this documentary follows six couples facing unexplained fertility challenges — and traces the root cause back to everyday plastic exposure. From phthalates in food packaging to bisphenols in water bottles, The Plastic Detox makes a deeply personal case for why microplastics aren’t just an environmental issue — they’re a human health crisis. Sobering, eye-opening, and impossible to ignore.

6. The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers: Our Brother, Hillel (March 20)

With over 120 million records sold, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of rock’s greatest bands. But before the global fame came a formative period shaped largely by original guitarist Hillel Slovak, who passed away tragically from a heroin overdose in 1988. This documentary, produced by Slovak’s own brother James, explores his enormous influence on the band’s early sound through interviews with Anthony Kiedis and Flea. It’s a love letter to a musician the world lost too soon. Interested in music docs? Browse our latest entertainment features at TechnoSports for more.

7. BTS: THE RETURN (March 27)

The moment millions of ARMYs have been waiting for. After completing South Korea’s mandatory military service, BTS is officially back — and their reunion performance, filmed live at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, will stream exclusively on Netflix. Alongside the concert, Netflix is releasing a full-length behind-the-scenes documentary chronicling the making of their latest album ARIRANG. It’s a cultural moment as much as it is a music event.
