Frenkie De Jong is in London: Here’s the real reason behind his travel

Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has been a huge admirer of Frenkie De Jong since their Ajax days. He wanted to bring the Netherlands international to Old Trafford at all costs from the very start of this transfer window.

However, Frenkie De Jong has been firm in his stance on remaining at Barcelona, despite rumours of the Spanish club trying to force him out to balance their finance books. De Jong didn’t want to come to Manchester United mainly because of their struggling form and playing in Europa League and it was understood, that he would have preferred a move to Chelsea over them.

Frenkie De Jong has travelled to London today along with his Barcelona teammate Memphis Depay. Many are speculating that his travel is regarding a last-minute transfer move.

Frenkie De Jong is in London: Here’s the real reason behind his travel

The real reason behind Frenkie De Jong’s travel to London is that Barcelona coach Xavi has given the players a couple of days off. So De Jong and Depay along with their partners have travelled to London for holidays. According to rumours, it may also be to attend Donny Van de Beek’s wedding.

As far as any last-minute transfer is concerned, De Jong’s travel to London is far from it, as of now! He wants to stay in Barcelona without taking a pay cut.
