Framework announced yesterday that preorders for the Framework Laptop 16 are now open in the United States, Canada, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Austria, Ireland, and Australia. The Framework Laptop 16 is powered by AMD Ryzen and Radeon GPUs from the newest generation.
The DIY Edition starts at $1,399 and prebuilt computers with Ryzen 7 7840HS start at $1,699 USD. With the addition of an AMD Radeon RX 7700S Graphics Module, the initial price rises to $1,799 and $2,099, respectively. Preorders that include a Graphics Module with an eligible AMD Radeon GPU will receive a free Starfield Premium Edition download coupon. The code will be distributed prior to the game’s early access launch.
The Ryzen 7 7840HS comes standard with 8 Zen 4 CPU cores clocked at up to 5.1GHz boost. The Ryzen 9 7940HS will also be available with a boost speed of up to 5.2GHz. The Thermal System on the Framework Laptop 16 has two 75mm fans, three heat pipes, and a liquid metal thermal interface, allowing for 45W continuous processor load while keeping the laptop cool and silent.
The Framework Laptop 16 also boasts noteworthy graphics capabilities built in, with Radeon 780M graphics and 12 RDNA 3 cores capable of running a variety of recent gaming titles, according to Framework.
The business claims that the CPU and GPU can function at full power concurrently when needed, and that this GPU shines for both work and pleasure, with 32 compute units running at up to 2.2GHz, allowing for high-end gaming.
The laptop has a 16-inch QHD+ display with a refresh rate of 165Hz, a contrast ratio of 1,500:1, and a brightness rating of 500 nits. It has USB 4 capability, USB 3.2 ports, DisplayPort connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2. According to Framework, the Framework Laptop 16 is constructed of magnesium alloy and aluminium and weighs only 5.3 pounds.
