To start off this year’s TGS, Square Enix and Luminous Productions debuted a brand-new, action-packed trailer for Forspoken. Tokyo Game Show is allowing fans to attend the event physically for the first time in a few years, so the gaming community has high hopes for one of Japan’s biggest video game fairs. The programme for the Tokyo Game Show 2022 seems to be jam-packed with significant streams from well-known companies and creators, including Bandai Namco, Square Enix, and Capcom, to name a few.
Gamers are now getting another glimpse at Forspoken as one of the first teasers for a major title to be displayed during the event. Frey, a young lady who leads a typical life in New York, is the main character of the action adventure game with an open environment. But as soon as Frey is taken to the mythical country of Athia and given the mission of rescuing it from its corruption, everything in her life quickly change from the routine to the exceptional.
This story appears to be the main subject of the newest Forspoken trailer. There is currently no English version of the two-minute long new video. However, it still contains some important information about the plot and gameplay of Forspoken. Fans get a closer look at a pair of Forspoken’s dragons in the first couple of seconds of the trailer. Although it’s not quite apparent which side the dragons in the game are on, Frey will probably have to fight at least one of them because they can be seen soaring over Athia’s ruined regions.
The new teaser appears to be mostly focused on the concepts around this corruption, as Frey is charged with delivering the darkness to the people of Athia. Frey does not seem to find it easy to make friends in her new home, as evidenced by numerous scenes with various leaders and NPCs in Forspoken’s universe; she is even accused of advancing the corruption that has overtaken Athia. Some, nevertheless, think Frey and her enchanted bracelet Cuff might be useful in Forspoken.
Although it was always implied that Frey would clash with some of Forspoken’s power brokers in the game, fans can now witness how that dynamic might change as the plot progresses thanks to a brand-new TGS trailer. Frey appears to be on a mission to disprove the accusations that she is responsible for Athia’s corruption, and it seems that the only way she can do this is by breaking the curse.
