Five Barcelona B youngsters including Monchu, Konrad steps up to train with the first team

This morning Barcelona had their second training after their six days break after the end of the LaLiga season. Barcelona’s next game is against Napoli at the Camp Nou in the Champions League, which will indeed be a decisive one to go to the quarter finals.

The Blaugranas does lack depth in the squad due to injuries like that of Dembele, Griezmann, Lenglet (all of them are undergoing individual training) and both defenders Ronald Araujo and Samuel Umtiti. Even though Griezmann & Lenglet will most likely catch up with the squad in the coming days, also signs of Dembele’s recovery is in good progress but Barca doesn’t have their backup defenders.

Also, both Sergio Busquets and Arturo Vidal will be missing the next match at the Camp Nou on August 8 due to suspensions. In the meantime, Arthur has not returned to Barcelona and is wanting to end his contract, so Barca can never rely on him for the crucial Champions League match.

So, to help the first team, Barcelona B players like J. Cuenca, Mingueza, Jandro, Monchu, and Konrad have joined the training this morning after going through their PCR tests yesterday. This will help Setien to keep substitutes for the Champions League campaign and use them when needed.

Both of them scoring in the dramatic 3-2 win over Valladolid Promesas, and Barcelona B captain Monchu was also on target in the final as well. Dani Morer was also expected to reinforce the team, however, he has suffered a hamstring injury. This will be an amazing opportunity for the youngsters to grab for and gain some experience in the Champions League.
