In the latest FIFAe Nations Ranking, India has climbed to the 15th position from the 17th spot last week. This is indeed a significant milestone for eTigers as this is their highest global ranking ever. The ranking was announced by FIFA after the conclusion of the FIFAe Nations Online Qualifiers, in which India put up a strong performance.

Brazil continues to hold the top spot, followed by Poland, Sweden, and Italy. India has overtaken Mexico and is just behind Spain in the FIFAe Nations Ranking. Singapore is currently the top-ranked Asian country at 9th place, while Japan is ranked 11th.

The FIFAe Nations Playoffs 2023 will feature the top teams from around the world, and India has already qualified for the playoffs. The team defeated Singapore in the quarterfinals of the FIFAe Nations Online Qualifiers to book their spot in the playoffs. The playoffs will take place on May 19th and 20th, and India will be represented by Saksham Rattan, Charanjot Singh, Saransh Jain, and Siddh Chandarana.

Here is a list of the top-ranked teams from Asia in the FIFAe Nations Ranking:

  1. Singapore – 9th
  2. Japan – 11th
  3. India – 15th
  4. Malaysia – 22nd
  5. Australia – 28th
  6. Indonesia – 23rd
  7. Korea Republic – 31st
  8. New Zealand – 41st

The FIFAe Nations Ranking System takes into account matchups played between two or more eligible MAs within the FIFAe Nations Series. The system awards points for each qualification stage on the Road to the FIFAe Nations Cup.

During the FIFAe Nations Series, each matchup between MAs is considered, with a maximum of six points per matchup. The average points-per-matchup is considered for each respective level of the FIFAe Nations Series competition, and an MA is awarded a different multiplication factor depending on the competition structure level in which the average points-per-matchup is accumulated.

The FIFAe Nations Cup will also award a fixed number of points to their ranking, with the FeNC Champion receiving 1750 points and the qualified for the group stage receiving 275 points.

India’s climb to the 15th position in the FIFAe Nations Ranking is a significant achievement, and the team’s strong performance in the FIFAe Nations Online Qualifiers has played a crucial role in their climb up the rankings. With the FIFAe Nations Playoffs 2023 coming up, Indian fans will be eagerly anticipating their team’s performance in the upcoming tournament.
