Pokemon GO continues to evolve, and Feraligatr with Hydro Cannon stands as a testament to the game’s intricate battle mechanics. Since its debut during the original Totodile Community Day in 2019, this Water-type starter has become a formidable presence in both Player vs Player (PvP) and Player vs Environment (PvE) battles, offering trainers a versatile and powerful option for their team.

PvP Battle League: A Meta-Defining Pokemon Moveset

Feraligatr has emerged as a top-tier threat in the Great League and Ultra League formats. The introduction of Shadow Claw in March 2024 transformed its battle potential, creating a lightning-fast move combination that allows trainers to outpace opponents with remarkable efficiency. The straight 10-turn pacing to Hydro Cannon provides an incredible strategic advantage.

Optimal Move Combinations

The ideal moveset combines Shadow Claw as the Fast Attack with Hydro Cannon as the primary Charged Attack. Ice Beam serves as an excellent second Charged Attack, providing crucial coverage against Grass and Flying-type Pokemon. This combination allows Feraligatr to exert significant pressure across various matchups.

Gym Defense: An Unexpected Stronghold

While not primarily known as a raid attacker, Feraligatr shines in gym defense scenarios. The Water-type’s defensive capabilities, combined with the Shadow Claw to Hydro Cannon transition, enable it to withstand and repel multiple attackers, potentially helping trainers earn valuable PokeCoins.

Trainers have a limited window to acquire this powerful variant:
