Kerala Blasters have confirmed a massive signing in the January transfer window, announcing Lithuanian captain Fedor Černych. The team added that the move is subject to the clearance of a medical test which will take place in the coming days. The arrival of Černych will be a massive boost to the club for the second half of the season, especially since they are mounting a title challenge.

The player is set to arrive in India in the coming days, and makes the move as a free agent after leaving Cypriot First Division side AEL Limassol.

Kerala Blasters sporting director Karolis Skinkys was key in ensuring that Černych made the move to India. After seeing his game time significantly reduced at AEL Limassol, the player wanted to make the move to a team where he would play regularly. And as a result, he has arrived at a team where he will be one of the most valuable players.

Cernych has represented Lithuania’s national football team 82 times, bagging 12 goals in the process. He has scored a goal and managed an assist in his five appearances in the UEFA Nations League. In the UEFA European Qualifiers, he has bagged himself two goals and two assists.

The 32-year-old had played for Russia’s top club Dynamo Moscow for two consecutive seasons between 2018 and 2020, scoring three goals in 33 appearances.
