Few shows have captured the human cost of conflict quite like Fauda, and its long-awaited fifth season is finally here — bringing Doron Kavillio back into the field for one of the series’ most emotionally charged chapters yet.
When Did Fauda Season 5 Release?
According to Euronews, Fauda Season 5 released on Netflix on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Created by Avi Issacharoff and Lior Raz, the new season is set two years after the October 7, 2023 attacks on southern Israel.
What’s the Story This Season?
Season 5 follows Doron Kavillio, commander of an undercover Israeli military unit, as he hunts down a Hamas operative he believed he had already killed. The story also takes him to Marseille, France, after he discovers that an old friend has gone rogue on an unsanctioned revenge mission — pulling Doron into a dangerous, deeply personal conflict.
Speaking to Netflix’s Tudum, Lior Raz, who also plays Doron, explained that the season wasn’t about recreating real events beat-for-beat, but about placing the show’s characters inside real, unpredictable situations while staying accurate to what actually happened. He added that he hoped audiences worldwide would come away understanding the value of peace and the toll that ongoing conflict takes on everyone involved.

Why Fauda Still Resonates
Since its debut, Fauda has stood out for portraying human stories on multiple sides of the Israel-Palestine conflict rather than offering a one-sided narrative. Season 5 continues that approach, using personal, character-driven storytelling to explore the emotional weight of ongoing conflict rather than simply dramatizing headlines.
