Leaked information suggests that the next Far Cry 7 game will be exciting. The upcoming installment of the well-liked open-world first-person shooter series from Ubisoft is said to be known to Insider Gaming’s sources. A time restriction mechanic and a non-linear plot are offered. This suggests that Ubisoft is experimenting with the basic recipe in a new way.
Additionally, this is another game that might be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. This article highlights significant information that gamers should be aware of.
According to Insider Gaming, the narrative of Far Cry 7 would center on rescuing the player’s affluent family from a cult after they were abducted.
The “Sons of Truths,” a shadowy conspiracy organization, will keep hostages, and players must rescue them before the clock runs out. Yes, the games will essentially be on a timer, though how this will balance out is still unknown.
It lasts for 72 in-game hours, which is the same as 24 hours in real life. Players can choose the order in which they want to save different family members. Additionally, some members can pass away, which can change how the plot develops.
All players must be rescued and led to safety for Far Cry 7 to be completed flawlessly. Given that Far Cry games have traditionally been open-world, and this new addition is reportedly no different in that aspect, this sounds difficult. A mechanic for questioning appears to be incorporated to enhance their efforts, although the opponent may react dynamically by speaking the truth, lying, or fleeing.
Technically speaking, it appears like Far Cry 7 will forego the dependable Dunia Engine that has been a franchise staple. Instead, Snowdrop, the technology that powers games like The Division 2, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and the upcoming Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, is advised to be used by producer Ubisoft.
In light of that, Far Cry 7 might also be released for the Nintendo Switch 2 shortly. Necro Felipe, a leaker, said in a response to Insider Gaming’s story on X (formerly Twitter) that the game would be released on the Nintendo Switch 2 on launch day. When pressed further, he explained that although it wouldn’t be available on launch day, the Nintendo Switch would get it on the same day as other platforms.
Speaking about the launch window, Far Cry 7 is rumored to go on sale in the fall of 2025. Internally, the project is known as Project Blackbird and is being overseen by Ubisoft Montreal. All things considered, the release of the upcoming Far Cry will occur well beyond the Nintendo Switch 2’s predicted 2024 release date.
