Fans are furious on Koeman as Riqui Puig doesn’t get called up against Atletico Madrid

Ansu Fati and Riqui Puig show their talent in the match against Leganes

Today, Barcelona’s draw against Atletico Madrid has shattered all the dreams of winning LaLiga. The Blaugranas made their chance to win the cup and made the mistakes that have cost the league title.

We knew this would be a tough game at Camp Nou, and Atletico would be setting up an impenetrable defence, and to break it down, you need a great midfield.

Sergio Busquets has proved time and time again this season a key part of the team; however, due to an injury had to sub off and Illaix stepped up but never really made an impact. Although Pedri was trying hard nevertheless another creative midfielder could have provided some help.

Riqui Puig is one of Barca’s biggest asset that is not being used by Ronald Koeman time and time again this season even though Pedri has seen to be struggling Puig is never been called upon. This is a battle between Koeman and Puig for no reason, costing Koeman the title ultimately.

To this, Barcelona fans have shown their anger on Twitter and here are some of the best tweets:

Puig is brave and intense..you will always feel his presence in the middle of the park when he's having a great game. This is what Koeman doesn't think is good enough

If Moriba is going to keep getting selected ahead of Puig….

Koeman should be sacked abeg
It shows he can't see….at all!!!

Ilaix has potential but there is no way in hell he's CURRENTLY a better player than Puig. I have never seen such a good player being misstreated like this. Koeman is strange.

A coach who puts his agenda above the success of the team is not at all needed.

The guy genuinely thinks Roberto on for Dest is a better move than subbing on Puig

Think Koeman Think !!!
How would you play Moriba instead of Puig pic.twitter.com/WMAfoCtrqr

Just imagine having Puig, Pedri and De Jong in d midfield after Busquets left d field in 1st half.

All Barca fans prefer Puig to Ilaix Moriba but Koeman wud rather have 10 players on d field than for Puig to come in.

Dembele, Messi, Dest, Araujo & Jordi Alba did well today. pic.twitter.com/PI34fnWf3u

We're fans of Ilaix Moriba, and in general of the job Koeman has done shepherding our youth prospects into the first team.

But the way Koeman has flat out erased Riqui Puig in the last 3 months has been criminal. pic.twitter.com/AmNUScAw1m
