Facebook is stilling Biometric data of its users through Instagram - 2_TechnoSports.co.in

If you have a Facebook account, there’s very little chance not to have one, then definitely you notice that the social media giant tracks all your activities in its platform. That to use the data to serve personalized ads, in simple words to utilize your activity data for business purposes.

Now, it is suspected that Facebook is stealing private biometric data of its users via Instagram. As per the recent complaints in State Court of Redwood City, California Zuckerberg and the team are “collecting, storing, and profiting” by using over 100 million Instagram user’s biometric data. Need to mention, biometric means not only the fingerprint but also the facial data.

The lawsuit says, “Once Facebook captures its Instagram usersโ€™ protected biometrics, it uses them to bolster its facial recognition abilities across all of its products, including the Facebook application, and shares this information among various entities,”

Reports are mentioning this activity of Facebook is breaking the privacy law of Illinois and may cost billions of dollars as a fine. The amount may go up to a thousand dollars per account, in total $100,000,000,000, considering 100 million Instagram accounts are there in question.
