The official trailer for Evil Dead Burn has finally been unleashed, and it’s already being called the most brutal entry in the franchise’s 45-year history. Directed by Sébastien Vaniček, the sixth installment in the “Evil Dead” franchise is slated to hit theaters on July 10. Warner Bros. unveiled the Evil Dead Burn trailer after unveiling footage for the room only at last month’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

Evil Dead Burn: Key Project Details

Evil Dead Burn is an upcoming American supernatural horror film serving as the third standalone entry, after Evil Dead (2013) and Evil Dead Rise (2023), and the sixth installment in the Evil Dead film series. Directed and co-written by Sébastien Vaniček, and produced by Rob Tapert and series creator Sam Raimi, it stars Souheila Yacoub, Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Erroll Shand, Maude Davey, George Pullar, and Greta Van Den Brink.

Trailer Breakdown: A Family Reunion From Hell (Spoiler-Free)

The grisly trailer begins with a mother at home interrupted by a knock at the door. The guest is revealed to be an undead corpse with chopped-off fingers and a car headrest through her skull. The car accident that caused the horrifying injury is later revealed, along with the Deadite zombie drinking burning candle wax and a painful encounter with a knife-filled dishwasher.

Once again, this latest entry in the long-running horror franchise strives to take the horror out of the “cabin in the woods” setting — “Evil Dead Rise” was set in a high-rise apartment building, while “Evil Dead Burn” seems to be relocating the action to a family home. Sébastien Vaniček, who helmed the creepy-crawly spider movie “Infested,” seems to be pulling out all the stops here, loading the film up with an abundance of style. The premise finds a grieving family suffering at the hands of those pesky Deadites, and it looks like everyone is in for a bad time.

The Story: Grief Meets Demonic Mayhem

The official synopsis reads: “Evil Dead Burn unleashes the franchise’s most savage and terrifying ride to date, blazing onto big screens with an all-new chapter of carnage and demonic mayhem. After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life live on… even in death.”
