A Gateway to Global Recognition

Lokesh Suji, Director of ESFI, shared his excitement about the upcoming tournament:
“Participating in the BRICS Esports Championship is a tremendous opportunity to showcase Indian talent on an international stage. This platform allows us to expand our National Esports Championship 2024, inviting more players to compete across various game titles. We’re especially excited about offering our athletes the chance to battle it out on PC and PS5 in Tekken 8, which represents a significant gateway to international recognition and glory at such a prestigious event.”

Event Format and ESFI’s Global Role

The BRICS Esports Championship will be held at the VK Play Arena in Moscow, with the event structured in two stages: a group stage in the round-robin format followed by the playoffs in the Olympic system. The grand finals will take place on November 10, 2024, with spectators watching live as top-tier gamers compete for the ultimate prize.

As the official governing body for esports in India, ESFI has been instrumental in elevating Indian esports on the global stage. From the Asian Games to the Commonwealth Esports Championship, ESFI has played a key role in securing India’s esports legacy, including bronze medals and notable placements in games like League of Legends. With strong affiliations to international bodies like the International Esports Federation (IESF) and the Global Esports Federation (GEF), ESFI is dedicated to amplifying India’s presence in the global esports community.
