Calling all outlaws and card sharks — Azeroth’s most notorious prison break is finally underway. Escape from Violet Hold, Hearthstone’s newest expansion, has just dropped with 135 brand-new collectible cards, and it’s bringing some of the wildest mechanics the game has ever seen.
The Story Behind The Breakout
Vanessa VanCleef is masterminding a daring escape from Azeroth’s maximum-security prison, the Violet Hold, and she’s not doing it alone. She’s assembled a crew of infamous inmates known as the Rulebreakers, and every class in the game gets its own Legendary Rulebreaker minion, each one built to bend or outright break one of Hearthstone’s core rules.

What’s New In This Expansion
The headline addition is a brand-new keyword called Prepare. Dragging a Prepare card into your deck spends all your remaining mana on it, discounting the card by that amount plus one, letting players stage explosive surprise plays for a later turn.
Then there’s Disguised Minions, a first for Hearthstone history — for the first time ever, players can place minions directly onto their opponent’s board, using them either to their own advantage or to sabotage the opponent’s strategy.
Rounding out the heist theme are Bribes, cards that hand the player a powerful effect in exchange for giving their opponent a little something in return.
