Top Gems Worth Hunting

Gold Badge – The Bleeding Beast

The Gold Badge delivers one of the strongest documented effects with +10% damage, +10% critical damage multiplier, and 100% bleed on every hit. While expensive, this gem transforms your melee weapon into a devastating close-combat tool.

Golden Star – Maximum Melee Power

The Golden Star increases melee weapon attack power with a +15% damage boost, making it the strongest gem currently available in the game. At just 2,272 currency, it offers exceptional value for aggressive players.

How to Get Gems

Gems appear as rare loot items during scavenging runs and are available in some in-game shops like the Black Market Contact inside your hideout. Here are your best acquisition strategies:

Black Market Method: The most consistent way to obtain rare gems like the Gold Badge is through the Black Market where it can be purchased with in-game currency, though you’ll need substantial funds.

Looting Strategy: Other gems spawn randomly in loot, so thorough searching and frequent raids will increase your chances. Focus on data boxes, rare containers, and boss encounters in zones like Ground Zero and Warehouse Area.

Using Gems Effectively

If you find a Gem, you can try slotting it into the axe back at base. The process is straightforward: access your hideout inventory, select your gem-equipped weapon, and insert the gem into the available slot.

Pro Combat Tips: Always keep your gem-equipped weapon ready for combat situations to utilize their boosts. The enhanced damage and bleeding effects make melee viable even in firefight scenarios. Check out our weapon optimization guide for complementary strategies.

Should You Invest in Gems Early?

In the early game, the effects of socketing aren’t clearly surfaced, and you can progress without engaging with the system. However, mid-to-late game players will find gems essential for tackling tougher zones and boss encounters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Remove Gems After Equipping Them?

Yes, gems can be removed and transferred between compatible weapons at your hideout. This allows you to experiment with different combinations without permanent commitment. Always test gem effects in safer zones before high-stakes raids.

Which Gem Should I Buy First from the Black Market?
