What’s the Story This Time?

Season 1 made Dhadakpur famous for losing a motorbike in a village that proudly called itself crime-free. Season 2 finds a new object of chaos: a mobile phone tower. When one gets planned on Banwari’s barren land, the villagers start blaming it for everything, typhoid, bad luck, even the idea of a tsunami reaching their landlocked village.

That’s just the main thread. Bhugol has reinvented herself as a social media influencer. Roshni is racing against a seven-day countdown to her SSC exam, while Amavas, openly smitten with her, offers a shortcut she probably shouldn’t take. Meanwhile, Inspector Mithlesh suspects the whole tower business might be a scam. Prime Video sums it up neatly: one tower, one test and one ticking clock.

Who’s Back, and Who’s New?

Most of the original ensemble returns for Season 2: Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Sparsh Shrivastava, Bhuvan Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi and Yashpal Sharma are all back in Dhadakpur. The big new addition is Bhojpuri star and singer Dinesh Lal Yadav, better known as Nirahua, joining the cast this season. Reports also point to Anjuman Saxena and Satyam Thakur rounding out the new faces.

The Team Behind the Comedy

Sonam Nair, who directed Season 1, returns to steer the second season as well. The show was created and written by Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg, while Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani produced it under their banner Bombay Film Cartel LLP, also serving as executive producers.

Why Dupahiya Built Such a Loyal Fanbase?

When Dupahiya premiered on Prime Video in March 2025, it quietly became one of the platform’s sleeper hits. Set in a village obsessed with its “crime-free” reputation, the show used a missing motorbike to explore much bigger themes, dowry pressure, gender bias and rural superstition, all wrapped in genuinely funny small-town humor. That blend of social commentary and comedy is exactly why fans are excited to see what a mobile tower can stir up this time.

For fans curious about the real-world side of India’s telecom expansion that inspired this kind of village-comedy premise, mobile network infrastructure in India has genuinely reshaped rural life in recent years, making the show’s satire land even sharper.
