Ever watched a trailer and felt like something was being held back? Turns out, that gut feeling was right. Dulquer Salmaan himself has confirmed that the I’m Game trailer was crafted to hide the film’s real twist — and it involves a fantasy element nobody saw coming.

What Did Dulquer Salmaan Actually Say?

While interacting with students at a college event in Hyderabad, the actor-producer admitted that the trailer intentionally skipped the film’s surprise core concept to protect the theatrical experience for audiences. Fans had speculated the story revolves around a hand transplant recipient whose new hand seeks revenge for its previous owner — and Salmaan’s comments suggest there’s more fantasy woven into that premise than the marketing let on.

In the trailer, his character Dan John is shown as a carefree risk-taker who bets using an algorithm — until the system turns against him and his life spirals. But the “why” behind that spiral, DQ hints, is where the real fantasy twist lives.

Trailers hiding plot twists isn’t new, but a producer-actor openly confirming it builds real anticipation. It tells audiences: don’t judge this one by the two-minute cut — the theatre experience is where the real story unfolds.

Beyond I’m Game, Salmaan — one of Malayalam cinema’s most versatile stars — has Aakasamlo Oka Tara and Sri Sri lined up next, keeping his 2026 slate packed across languages.
