Dream to You Finally Lets Its Leads Stop Playing Games — Here’s What Changed in Episodes 3-4

Ten years of silence doesn’t unravel in one conversation, but “Dream to You” tries anyway. After a shaky start, Episodes 3-4 finally let Joo Yi Jae and Woo Soo Bin drop the guardedness and actually talk — and the show is noticeably better for it.

Dream to You: Episode Snapshot

They Finally Talk About What Actually Happened

Rather than dragging out the usual will-they-explain-themselves tension common in rom-coms, Yi Jae and Soo Bin address their decade-long silence head-on. Soo Bin opens up about the abuse he suffered at his father’s hands and the impossible position that pushed him abroad. Yi Jae, in turn, doesn’t pretend his explanation erases what she lost — she’s honest that understanding his past doesn’t undo the career and dreams she had to give up in his absence. It’s a blunt, unsentimental exchange that gives both characters real weight going forward.

A Reluctant Partnership Becomes a Genuine One

With no job and few options left, Yi Jae agrees to collaborate with Soo Bin on adapting the script they wrote together as teenagers. Her early struggles getting back into screenwriting feel authentically relatable — including the very real urge to take on a side gig the moment the blank page gets overwhelming. Soo Bin, meanwhile, proves to be a patient, encouraging creative partner, quietly shouldering the production costs while leaning on producer Seo In Wook to help secure funding behind the scenes.

The Moment the Romance Actually Clicks

Several supporting pairings get their own swoon-worthy beats — a motorcycle ride for one couple, an instant spark for another — but it’s Yi Jae and Soo Bin’s forced cohabitation while working on the script that finally pushes their relationship forward. After ten years of unresolved feelings, Yi Jae is the one who initiates their first kiss, setting up real romantic stakes for the episodes ahead.
