Dragon Pony Down A Member: Pyun Sung Hyun Officially Exits The Group

K-pop fans woke up to unexpected news today. Pyun Sung Hyun, a member of the group Dragon Pony, has officially parted ways with both the group and his agency. The announcement comes just weeks after he stepped away from activities due to health reasons, and it’s left fans processing a genuinely sudden shift.

What Happened in Dragon?

On August 25, Dragon Pony’s agency, Antenna, confirmed that it had mutually agreed with Pyun Sung Hyun to end his exclusive contract. This means he officially stops all activities as a Dragon Pony member effective the same day. Moving forward, Dragon Pony will continue on as a three-member group.

Why He Stepped Away

Pyun Sung Hyun had been on hiatus since July, when Antenna first announced he would be temporarily stepping back from group activities to focus on his health. What began as a pause has now turned into a permanent departure, following what the agency described as extended discussions between both parties.

Antenna’s Statement To Fans

In their official statement, Antenna thanked fans for their continued love for Dragon Pony and explained that after thorough discussions, both sides mutually agreed to conclude the contract. The agency asked fans to support both Dragon Pony and Pyun Sung Hyun as they move forward on separate paths, and apologized for the sudden nature of the announcement, promising the remaining members will continue delivering music fans can look forward to.

What This Means For Dragon Pony

Member departures are always tough on a fanbase, especially when they follow a health-related hiatus rather than a planned exit. For now, Dragon Pony is set to continue promoting as a trio, and it remains to be seen how the group’s sound and dynamic will shift without Pyun Sung Hyun. Meanwhile, fans are wishing him a smooth and healthy path ahead in whatever comes next.
