Don 3 Compensation Payment: Ranveer Singh Offered ₹10 Crore to Excel — CINTAA Says “Kudos to Him”.

Ranveer Singh’s Don 3 compensation payment of ₹10 crore has won praise from CINTAA president Poonam Dhillon. Here’s the full story of Bollywood’s biggest exit controversy.

In Bollywood, walking out of a film is not uncommon. Paying for it — that is rare. And doing it while offering a ₹25 crore discount on your next collaboration? That is almost unheard of.

That is exactly what Ranveer Singh did after his headline-making exit from Don 3 — and now, CINTAA president Poonam Dhillon has a simple message for him: “Kudos.”

Don 3 Compensation Payment: The Full Picture

Why Ranveer Walked Out

The disagreement stems from how prepared Don 3 really was when Ranveer committed to it. Ranveer’s side maintains that the film never reached a stage of creative readiness — no locked script even after years of development, and multiple story elements remained unresolved.

He was reportedly unhappy with the absence of a bound script, unresolved storylines, and concerns over project management. Additionally, he did not receive an advance and was not compensated for time lost on other shelved projects.

Excel Entertainment, however, disputes this version — stating the script was developed and shared in stages, with Ranveer approving each draft without objection.

The Don 3 Compensation That Surprised the Industry

According to reports, Ranveer’s team was willing to pay ₹10 crore to Excel Entertainment. The actor also offered a discount of ₹25 crores on any other film that Excel may want to do with him next, aiming to keep the professional relationship intact and friendly.

That gesture did not go unnoticed.

CINTAA President Poonam Dhillon lauded Ranveer for taking responsibility and compensating the makers for the losses incurred, saying: “I am sure he would be a fair person — he is not the kind of person who will deliberately harm or hurt anybody, and he has an excellent relationship with Excel.”

“Many don’t even do that,” she added plainly — a statement that speaks volumes about how rarely actors in similar situations step up financially.

Industry Sides With Ranveer — Cautiously

Dhillon also stressed that lead actors deserve a creative voice: “They are intelligent, thinking people. They have a say in a script because they are going to be the ones projected there. They will get the brickbats in the end if the film is not appreciated.”

The dispute has now largely been resolved. FWICE recently withdrew its non-cooperation directive against Ranveer after discussions involving CINTAA, IMPPA, and other industry bodies. Ranveer had also reportedly sent a legal notice questioning FWICE’s authority in the matter.

What’s Next for Don 3?

With Ranveer out, Don 3 is now moving forward with Shah Rukh Khan back in the franchise’s iconic role. Meanwhile, Ranveer’s Dhurandhar — which released in December 2025 — stormed into the ₹1,000 crore club, becoming the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025. The controversy has done nothing to dent his box office standing.
