“Doc” Season 2 Lands on Netflix the Same Day FOX Premieres Season 3

A perfectly timed streaming strategy means new fans can binge-catch-up right as returning viewers dive into fresh episodes on linear TV.

Fans of FOX’s breakout medical drama have something to celebrate. Doc Season 2 is officially set to hit Netflix in the United States on September 22 — landing on the exact same day Season 3 premieres on FOX, with next-day availability on Hulu.

A Smart Strategic Rollout

This kind of same-day timing isn’t accidental. It gives brand-new viewers the perfect window to discover the show and binge through Season 2 just as Season 3 kicks off on broadcast television, while rewarding existing fans with an easy way to catch up before diving into new episodes.

Doc: Overview

Why Doc Has Been a Breakout Hit

Doc has quietly become a major win for both FOX and Netflix. It ranked as the #1 scripted series on FOX during the 2024–25 broadcast season, and when Season 1 landed on Netflix in September 2025, it performed remarkably well — pulling in 13.6 million hours watched in its very first tracked week alone. The show ultimately spent 14 days in the US daily Top 10 and racked up 43.7 million hours watched in the second half of 2025.

What Season 2 Brings

The series follows Dr. Amy Larsen as she rebuilds both her career and personal life while navigating the lasting effects of a traumatic brain injury that erased eight years of her memories. Season 2 significantly expands the story, jumping from Season 1’s tight 10-episode run to a much larger 22 episodes. Joining the returning cast — including Omar Metwally, Amirah Vann, and Anya Banerjee — is Emmy winner Felicity Huffman as new character Dr. Joan Ridley.

Where the Show Comes From

Doc is based on the acclaimed Italian format Doc – Nelle tue mani, originally created by Lux Vide. The US adaptation is produced by Sony Pictures Television and FOX Entertainment, continuing a trend of successful international format adaptations finding new life on American television.

Will It Stream Outside the US?

As with Season 1, this licensing deal appears exclusive to Netflix in the United States. International viewers will need to check local broadcasters for availability, following a pattern Sony Pictures Television has used for other network titles recently.
