Do You Need to Play Previous Dying Light Games Before The Beast?

Dying Light: The Beast has zombie survival fans wondering: can you jump straight into this highly anticipated standalone adventure, or do you need to experience Kyle Crane’s earlier journeys first? The short answer is no – but there’s more to consider for the optimal gaming experience.

What Makes Dying Light: The Beast Special?

Dying Light: The Beast is a standalone adventure that brings back the legendary hero Kyle Crane, the original protagonist from the first Dying Light game. Originally conceived as DLC for Dying Light 2, it evolved into a fully standalone game with an expanded scope that newcomers can easily dive into.

Players step into Kyle Crane’s shoes after years of brutal experiments, seeking revenge against the man who transformed him into half man, half beast. This transformation gives the game its unique hook while maintaining the series’ signature blend of parkour, combat, and survival horror.
