Disney+ Playlists Feature Snubs Marvel & Star Wars — Here’s What’s Missing

Disney+ just rolled out a slick new binge-watching feature called Playlists — but two of Disney’s biggest cash cows, Marvel and Star Wars, are nowhere to be found in it. Here’s what’s actually included, and why the exclusion is raising eyebrows.

What Is Disney+ Playlists?

Playlists is Disney+‘s new curated binge-watching feature, offering themed collections of shows and movies with continuous playback, grouped by genre, character, franchise, or mood. It’s meant to make discovery and marathon-watching easier for subscribers.

Who Made the Cut (and Who Didn’t)

For now, Marvel and Star Wars titles only show up scattered across generic genre bundles like “Action & Adventure Movies,” rather than getting their own dedicated hubs.

Why This Is Surprising

Marvel and Star Wars are arguably Disney’s two most valuable franchises, with nearly three dozen shows made exclusively for the platform and over 40 combined movies streaming there. Given that niche properties like Spidey & His Amazing Friends already got playlist treatment, it seems like only a matter of time before both franchises get their own dedicated collections — Disney just hasn’t confirmed a timeline yet.
