Leaks about Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 continue to emerge, even though their official launches are still months away. This latest leak originates from China’s Digital Chat Station (DCS), which has posted an AnTuTu benchmark score for MediaTek’s next chip.

Dimensity 9500 Scores 400K+ on AnTuTu; Snapdragon 8 Elite 3 and Dimensity 9600 to Feature 2nm Process

According to the latest benchmark, the Dimensity 9500 scored more than 400,000 points — around 17% ahead of the best score we have seen from the Snapdragon 8 Elite yet. But since the launch is still a few months away, these numbers are subject to change as final tweaks and optimizations are made. Moreover, according to DCS, MediaTek will also increase the L3 cache on the Dimensity 9500 chip from 12MB to 16MB.

That should help reduce memory latency, increasing the efficiency of the chip for things like app switching and multitasking. This upgrade is expected to contribute to an overall smoother user experience, particularly for demanding applications. If you look even farther out, DCS also says Apple, Qualcomm and MediaTek are each designing next-gen chips to be built on TSMC’s 2nm process. You can expect large strides in power, efficiency and performance from these chips, like the Apple A20, Snapdragon 8 Elite 3, or Dimensity 9600.

Building chips on a smaller node tends to carry increased production costs, meaning flagship smartphones in 2026 could potentially be pricier. The Dimensity 9500, meanwhile, should be manufactured using TSMC’s 3nm N3E node. The chip will feature two Cortex-X930 “Travis” cores for high performance, along with six Cortex-A730 “Gelas” cores for energy efficiency. The prime cores will be capable of reaching speeds up to 4GHz, providing a 10% performance boost over the Dimensity 9400, enhancing overall efficiency and processing power.
