Dhurandhar: The Revenge Box Office — Ranveer Singh’s Comeback Smashes Rs. 7 Cr in Just 24 Hours of Advance Booking

Ranveer Singh is back — and Bollywood is clearly paying attention. Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, has set the internet buzzing with its advance booking numbers. In just the first 24 hours of paid preview sales, the film raked in approximately Rs. 7 crore nett, selling around 1.5 lakh tickets across India. That’s not just impressive — that’s a statement.

Second Biggest Bollywood Preview Ever — And Counting

Here’s the exciting part: these are paid previews only, not even the full advance. The film is now the second highest Bollywood film ever in paid preview sales, sitting just behind Stree 2‘s Rs. 8.75 crore — a record it is expected to surpass soon.

To put this in perspective, the national chains alone sold more tickets in the first 24 hours than almost any other Bollywood release — trailing only Jawan (1,55,000 tickets) and Pathaan (1,22,000 tickets). And here’s the kicker: those films had bookings open six days before release. Dhurandhar: The Revenge achieved this with eleven days still to go.

The strongest demand has poured in from metros — Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad — as expected. But even smaller centres, which are traditionally slower on advance bookings, are showing early movement.

A Massive Day in the Making

With over 6,000 shows already on sale for the preview day — a number expected to grow to 8,000–10,000 — the capacity for that single day is already around Rs. 50–70 crore nett. Premium pricing (25–75% higher than standard rates) is clearly not deterring fans one bit.

Bookings for the rest of the opening weekend haven’t even opened yet. Once they do, the numbers are expected to go through the roof.

A quick note on inflated figures: Numbers like Rs. 11–12 crore floating on social media are scraped from ticketing apps like BookMyShow and include blocked seats (reserved for walk-in counter sales). These are not actual collections. The verified figure stands at Rs. 7 crore nett.

Why This Matters for Bollywood

Box office advance bookings are a critical indicator of a film’s opening potential — especially for big-ticket action entertainers. The fact that Dhurandhar: The Revenge is pulling numbers comparable to Shah Rukh Khan’s biggest openers says a lot about Ranveer Singh’s star power and the audience’s appetite for this franchise.
