Tamil horror fans have been on quite the rollercoaster with Demonte Colony 3. Between shifting release dates and an industry-wide dispute over OTT windows, the franchise’s third chapter has generated as much real-world drama as its supernatural storyline. Why Demonte Colony 3 Release Date Keeps Changing
The film’s date has moved more than once. It was first advanced from September 11 to September 10, positioning it as a global Tamil horror event shot across Portugal, Malta, Leh-Ladakh, and Chennai over 80 days. However, a wider industry dispute has since complicated things: the Tamil Producers Council halted several releases, including Demonte Colony 3, Sardar 2, and Mandaadi, from September 1 amid disagreements over an 8-week OTT release window. As a result, reports now suggest the film could be pushed to October 1, though official confirmation from the makers is still pending.
Demonte Colony 3 Release Date Cast and Story
Demonte Colony 3 sees Arulnithi and Priya Bhavani Shankar reprising their roles, continuing the supernatural horror mythology built across the franchise’s first two installments. Joining them is Guru Somasundaram in a mysterious new role that’s already generating curiosity among fans. The film carries an ‘A’ certificate from the CBFC, signaling a darker, more intense tone than its predecessors. Sam C. S. returns to compose the score, marking his continued collaboration with both Arulnithi and director Ajay Gnanamuthu.
What’s Driving the Hype?
Beyond the cast continuity, Demonte Colony 3’s ambitious international shoot locations and its darker certification suggest the franchise is doubling down on hard horror rather than softening its edge for a wider release. If the storytelling matches that ambition, this could become one of the standout Tamil horror releases of 2026.
