Pregnant and still pulling night shifts on a pan-India action set? That’s exactly what Deepika Padukone is doing right now — and the internet can’t stop talking about it.

What’s actually happening on the Raaka set

Deepika, currently in her third trimester, has been shooting night sequences and action portions for Atlee’s sci-fi drama Raaka, opposite Allu Arjun. An insider told Variety India that watching her push through gruelling stunt sequences while also parenting her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter has been genuinely inspiring for the crew.

This isn’t new territory for the actress — she famously shot for Kalki 2898 AD while pregnant with her first child, Dua.

Why this story is striking a chord

Deepika has spoken before about wanting structured, eight-hour workdays. Seeing her override that for punishing night shoots says a lot about her commitment to the film’s timeline — and it’s reigniting conversations about how much pregnant actresses are expected to endure on set.
