When Deepika Padukone announced her second pregnancy with Ranveer Singh, the internet did what it always does — it panicked on her behalf. Rumours flew fast: her role in Allu Arjun and Atlee’s much-anticipated Raaka would be trimmed. She might be replaced. The film’s plans had changed.
The makers have now officially shut all of that down.
What the Raaka Team Actually Said
The team clarified to The Times of India: “Everything is moving as planned. Deepika Padukone plays a crucial role in Raaka, and the shoot is unfolding seamlessly with great energy on set.”
Not only is she still in the film — an industry insider revealed that Deepika is shooting intense action sequences for Raaka during her pregnancy and will continue to do so throughout, with the film and her personal teams taking all necessary precautions.
This isn’t even new territory for Deepika. During her first pregnancy in 2024, she shot for Kalki 2898 AD in her early months and attended promotional events while visibly pregnant. The woman is simply built different.
