Deepika Padukone Is Pregnant Again — And She Predicted This Magical Chapter Years Ago

Some things in life just come full circle. Years before Deepika Padukone became a mother, she sat down for a candid chat and told the world exactly what she felt about motherhood — with a quiet certainty that, looking back now, feels almost prophetic. As she and Ranveer Singh announce their second pregnancy, that old interview has found a whole new life on the internet. And honestly? It’s the sweetest throwback.

What Deepika Said About Having a Baby — Years Before It Happened

Shortly after her fairytale wedding to Ranveer Singh in Lake Como, Italy in November 2018, a newly married Deepika opened up about her plans for starting a family. Her answer was simple, warm, and completely unhurried.

She told Pinkvilla in that exclusive interview: “It will happen when it has to happen. Motherhood trumps being married. Of course it will happen at some point.”

No timelines, no pressure — just a woman completely at peace with where life was headed. That kind of quiet confidence is exactly what makes this throwback so touching now that baby number two is on the way.

The DeepVeer Journey — From Italy to Baby Number Two

It’s been quite a journey for this power couple. Married in a private ceremony in Italy, they built one of Bollywood’s most beloved love stories step by step. In September 2024, they welcomed their daughter Dua into the world. And just a few days ago, the couple surprised fans by announcing they are expecting their second child.

For Deepika, that feeling of becoming a wife hit her almost instantly. She recalled the moment the ceremony ended: “The minute we held hands, it was different. It was not like holding my boyfriend’s hand; he’s your man for life.”

That emotional honesty has always been Deepika’s superpower — and it’s why her fans connect with her so deeply, on screen and off it.

Meanwhile, Life Goes On — Professionally Too

What makes this news even more remarkable is that Deepika is not slowing down. Despite being pregnant with their second child, she continues to push forward with two massive upcoming projects — Shah Rukh Khan’s King and Allu Arjun’s Raaka, the latter of which has been one of the most anticipated pan-India films in recent memory.

Ranveer, meanwhile, is on a box office high of his own. His performance in Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge broke multiple records, cementing his place as one of Bollywood’s most bankable stars.

Together, they are arguably the most successful — and most adored — couple in Indian cinema right now.

Deepika Padukone began her career as a model before making her Bollywood debut in 2006, and has since become one of India’s highest-paid actresses, known as much for her resilience and openness about mental health as for her films.

The Quote That Says It All

When asked to sum up 2018 — the year she married the love of her life — Deepika said: “Magical. Absolutely magical. I can’t think of any other word.”

Somehow, we think 2026 might just earn that same word too.
