As the release date of Dead Island 2 approaches, Dambuster’s development team has revealed the system requirements that PC players must meet in order to run the game at specific resolutions. While the specifications can become quite high at higher settings, Dead Island 2 has listed four presets ranging from 1080p to 4K to meet the needs of PC gamers.
Dead Island 2 returned to the spotlight last year at Gamescom 2022, after nearly a decade of development hell, with the developers changing multiple times during that time. Dead Island 2 was eventually picked up by Dambuster Studios, a subsidiary of publisher Deep Silver. Ten years after the first Dead Island, the United States government quarantined the state of California to contain the undead threat, only for more serious issues to arise. In Dead Island 2, players will explore the zombie-infested ruins of Los Angeles as one of six Slayers, each with their own set of innate skills to try out.
Dead Island 2 posted on social media the system requirements for playing the game at a minimum resolution of 1080p and 30 frames per second (FPS).
The game requires Windows 10 and at least 70 GB of free space, and it only works with DirectX12 graphics cards. With certain parts becoming more affordable, players should have an easier time meeting the requirements for a gruesome and enjoyable experience in Dead Island 2 on PC. Players will need at the very least 10 GB of RAM, an AMD FX-9590 or Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, and either an AMD Radeon RX 480 or GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card.
While the game is an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC, it remains one of the platform’s most anticipated titles for 2023. Despite the high and ultra settings requirements, Dead Island 2 supports temporal upscaling through AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR2) technology. Players can turn on FSR and display the game at their target resolution without losing FPS by setting the game to render at a lower resolution.
Dead Island 2 launches April 21 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
