From box office to your living room — Lokesh Kanagaraj’s darkest role yet is coming home sooner than you’d think.
After a strong theatrical run, DC — the action drama that saw filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj step in front of the camera for a full-fledged acting role — is heading to OTT. The film reimagines Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic novel Devdas through a far grittier, more violent lens, and fans have been eagerly waiting to catch it from home.

What’s DC About?
Lokesh Kanagaraj plays Das, an outcast whose world falls apart after losing the woman he loves, Parvathy. Wamiqa Gabbi stars as Chandra, a woman fighting to escape a life of exploitation. As their paths cross, the story spirals through revenge, betrayal, and raw, brutal action — a far cry from the tragic romance of the original Devdas.
You can read more about the source material on Devdas’ Wikipedia page to see just how differently this adaptation reimagines the classic.
What’s Next For Lokesh Kanagaraj
While DC marked his rare full-time acting stint, Lokesh is set to return behind the camera for his next big project with Allu Arjun, tentatively titled AA23. He’s also continuing to expand his ambitious Lokesh Cinematic Universe.
