It appears that Cyberpunk 2077’s popularity even extends to mobile gaming, according to Valve’s list of the top Steam Deck games by total hours played in September that was just published. Fourth on the list, alongside some repeats from the previous month, like Vampire Survivors, Elden Ring, and Stardew Valley, is CD Projekt Red’s sci-fi open-world RPG 2020.
Considering that we just revealed that Cyberpunk attracted more than 1 million players each day just last week, it’s not too unexpected to see it rank that highly. After CD Projekt Red’s 1.6 “Edgerunners” update, which finally included the eagerly anticipated transmog system, this is beginning to feel like a second launch.
Update aside, it appears that some owners of Cyberpunk 2077 have returned to Night City as a result of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime on Netflix. Wes Fenlon, our unofficial anime editor, thought it was entertaining to watch. Even some in-game objects inspired by the anime were added by CDPR, such as David’s jacket.
This week, CD Projekt Red made the remarkable announcement that Cyberpunk 2077 has sold over 20 million copies. Phantom Liberty, a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, will see the return of V and his computer ghost pal Johnny Silverhand. Keanu Reeves will play V in this sequel.
