A new patch rolled out for Cyberpunk 2077 (2.00.21) that introduces support for NVIDIA DLSS version 4, including the Transformer model, which markedly increases image quality over DLSS 3.8. This update, which has just gone live, comes with plenty of other changes worth mentioning as well, such as Photo Mode features, vehicle color customization fixes, and randomizer settings in Character Creation, as well as a selection of general bug fixes.

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.21 Adds DLSS 4 Support, New Photo Mode Features, and Vehicle Customization Fixes
The most important update in the 2.21 patch is the addition of NVIDIA DLSS 4 support, along with Multi Frame Generation for the upcoming RTX 50 series graphics cards. This means players can select the previous-gen CNN model, or the new Transformer model for DLSS Super Resolution, DLAA, and Ray Reconstruction across all RTX graphics cards.
The Transformer model is also a substantial image quality improvement in DLSS 4, as indicated by findings NVIDIA shared earlier this month. In the video, MxBenchmarkPC compares both models to show how the new one performs in Cyberpunk 2077.
Although it adds a small amount of performance overhead, the Transformer model really does improve image quality overall, resulting in less ghosting and more clarity on moving images. Even distant objects, when viewed through anti-aliasing, have improved, providing a smoother and more pleasant look to the game.
Alongside DLSS 4, the patch contains other enhancements for the game, including improved customization options in Photo Mode, fixes for vehicle color options, and the addition of randomizer settings in Character Creation. The different changes are aimed directly at enhancing the gameplay, stability, and visuals for players. Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One worldwide. With each update, the game continues to evolve, offering better visuals and enhanced performance.
