Collision Course: A Madrid Bank Heist Goes Wrong in Netflix’s Next Spanish Thriller

A routine bank robbery. A financial crisis. And a room full of people who all want to escape something bigger than a jail cell. Netflix’s newest Spanish thriller looks like the perfect Halloween-week watch.

Collision Course: Release Date and Overview

Collision Course premieres worldwide on October 30, 2026, and an official trailer is already out. It’s directed and co-written by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo, known for Dark Blue Almost Black and Seventeen, and this marks his first venture into the thriller genre.

What’s the Story?

Netflix’s synopsis sets the scene at the height of the financial crisis, when a group of robbers storms a bank in Madrid. What looks like an ordinary robbery spirals into a game of deception, fear and survival, where every decision matters, every gesture hides something and everyone is trying to escape from more than just prison.

Meet the Cast

Laia Costa headlines, and this is her first Netflix project. Fans may know her from Victoria. She’s joined by Karra Elejalde, Luis Zahera, Tamar Novas, Álvaro Cervantes and Lluís Homar, with Jorge Cabrera, Alba Fontecha, Ismael Martínez and Imma Sancho in supporting roles. Character details haven’t been fully revealed yet, though early images show names like Carla, Pedro, Ernesto and Luis.

Several of these actors are familiar Netflix faces. Álvaro Cervantes and Tamar Novas, for example, have each appeared in plenty of the platform’s Spanish titles.

Why Add It to Your Watchlist?

Spanish thrillers have a strong track record on Netflix, and this one comes from Bambú Producciones, the team behind Cable Girls and The Asunta Case. Add an acclaimed director stepping outside his comfort zone, and you have a heist film that promises tension rather than just action.
