Three usage limit changes —Claude effective immediately
All three changes are aimed at improving the experience for Anthropic’s most dedicated customers:
First, Claude Code’s five-hour rate limits are being doubled for Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans. Second, the peak hours limit reduction on Claude Code is being removed for Pro and Max accounts. Third, API rate limits are being raised considerably for Claude Opus models.
The SpaceX compute deal
Anthropic has signed an agreement with SpaceX to use all of the compute capacity at their Colossus 1 data center — giving Anthropic access to more than 300 megawatts of new capacity, equivalent to over 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs, coming online within the month. This additional capacity will directly improve service for Claude Pro and Claude Max subscribers.
As part of this agreement, Anthropic has also expressed interest in partnering with SpaceX to develop multiple gigawatts of orbital AI compute capacity. anthropic

Where this fits in Anthropic’s broader compute buildout
The SpaceX deal joins several other major announcements: an up to 5 GW agreement with Amazon (including nearly 1 GW of new capacity by end of 2026); a 5 GW agreement with Google and Broadcom coming online in 2027; a strategic partnership with Microsoft and NVIDIA including $30 billion of Azure capacity; and a $50 billion investment in American AI infrastructure with Fluidstack. anthropic

International expansion
Enterprise customers — particularly in regulated industries like financial services, healthcare, and government — increasingly need in-region infrastructure for compliance and data residency requirements. The Amazon collaboration includes additional inference capacity in Asia and Europe. Anthropic says it is intentional about partner countries, focusing on democratic nations with secure supply chains for hardware, networking, and facilities. anthropic
Anthropic recently made a commitment to cover any consumer electricity price increases caused by its data centers in the US, and is exploring ways to extend that commitment to new international jurisdictions. anthropic

FAQs
What does the SpaceX compute deal mean for everyday Claude users?
The deal gives Anthropic immediate access to over 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs at SpaceX’s Colossus 1 data center, which directly translates to doubled Claude Code rate limits, removal of peak-hour throttling for Pro and Max users, and higher API rate limits for Claude Opus — meaning less waiting and fewer restrictions during heavy usage periods.
Will Anthropic’s compute expansion reach users outside the United States?
Yes — part of the capacity buildout is explicitly international, with the Amazon agreement including additional inference infrastructure in Asia and Europe to meet data residency and compliance needs for enterprise customers in regulated industries like healthcare, finance, and government.
