While the English Premier League giants Manchester United have moved slowly in the ongoing summer transfer window, they have recently signed the players like Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez.

The 30-year-old Danish attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen was the second signing for Man United in this summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the Red Devils have just confirmed the 24-year-old Argentine centre-back Lisandro Martinez as their fresh signing. Both of them have the abilities to play powerful roles for the Dutch manager Erik ten Hag’s Man United.

The football world is now very much familiar with the name of Christian Eriksen. It is similar to a fairy tale story of how Eriksen returned to the game after suffering a life-threatening incident.

During the UEFA Euro 2020, when Denmark was playing their opening game of the tournament against Finland, Eriksen suffered a life-threatening cardiac arrest on the field. Later, an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) was fitted to his heart.

More than eight months later of that on-field cardiac arrest, Eriksen made a comeback in the football match as he served for the new English Premier League club Brentford in February 2021. He played an influential role for that club in that second half of the season. After successfully ending that six-month contract, Eriksen signed for the Premier League giants Manchester United.

The former Ajax, Spurs and Inter Milan footballer Eriksen has huge experience. He is a versatile player who can effectively play as a central midfielder or attacking midfielder. Eriksen has great skills to serve as a playmaker for his team. So, he can be very useful for Man United in the forthcoming season.

The Argentine centre-back Lisandro Martinez is another versatile addition to Man United for the new season. In the last season (2021/22), he was the Ajax Player of the Year for his outstanding performance in that season for the Dutch club.

Martinez has also played seven matches for the Argentina national football team after his debut for the team in March 2019. He also served for the Argentina U20 and Argentina U23 teams.

The regular centre-back Martinez can also play effective roles as a left-back, defensive midfielder and central midfielder. He can also play helpful roles for the attacking footballers, while Martinez has also the ability to make direct involvement in his team’s goals.

Most importantly, the new Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag knows him very well as the Argentine spent the last three seasons under the Dutch manager in Ajax. So, there is no doubt about the importance of this signing for the Red Devils.

Manchester United are desperate to end their trophy-less season

Manchester United had horrific experiences during the last season (2021/22). They not only finished in the sixth position in the Premier League, but they also managed the lowest points in their PL history.

The Red Devils are desperate to end their bad patch very soon under the new Dutch manager Erik ten Hag. They haven’t won a trophy for the last five seasons, and the club doesn’t want to continue this status for the 2022/23 season.
