The Secret Pregnancy Journey

In true Chris Evans fashion, the couple maintained absolute privacy throughout Alba’s pregnancy. Unlike many Hollywood stars who share their baby bumps and nursery preparations, Evans and Baptista didn’t publicly announce they were expecting.

The first hints emerged on Father’s Day when a fan account congratulated the couple. What really sparked speculation was a comment from Alba’s father that went viral: “Many thanks dear Chris. Your turn is coming!” Fans immediately interpreted this as confirmation that the couple was expecting their first child.

Despite the mounting rumors, neither Chris nor Alba addressed the speculation—staying committed to their famously private approach to celebrity life.

Chris Evans: From Captain America to Captain Dad

The 44-year-old actor has spent years portraying heroes on screen, most notably as Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But fatherhood represents his most authentic heroic journey yet.

Evans recently appeared in Materialists, a romantic comedy alongside Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal, showcasing his range beyond superhero blockbusters. Marvel fans have reason to celebrate too—the actor is expected to return for Avengers: Doomsday, though official confirmation remains pending.

Throughout his career, Evans has expressed desires for family life. In past interviews, he’s spoken about wanting children and the importance of building a life beyond Hollywood’s spotlight. With Alma Grace’s arrival, those dreams have beautifully materialized.

Alba Baptista: The Talented Portuguese Star

While Chris enjoys worldwide fame, Alba Baptista has carved her own impressive path in entertainment. The Portuguese actress gained recognition starring in Netflix’s Warrior Nun, demonstrating her action-hero capabilities.

In 2025, Alba appeared in Borderline, a comedy thriller that showcased her versatility. She has exciting projects on the horizon, including Mother Mary and Voltron, proving she’s balancing new motherhood with a flourishing career.

The couple’s ability to support each other’s professional ambitions while maintaining privacy has become their relationship trademark.

A Private Love Story

Chris and Alba’s romance exemplifies modern celebrity relationships done right. The couple dated for years before going Instagram official just nine months before their September 2023 wedding—a move that thrilled fans who’d barely known about their relationship.

Their intimate Cape Cod ceremony featured only close friends and family, reflecting their shared values around privacy and authenticity. This approach has clearly extended to their parenting journey, with the couple controlling their narrative and protecting their daughter’s introduction to the world.

According to director Luca Guadagnino, who worked with Alba on Borderline, the couple is “exactly right for each other”—a sentiment that resonates even more now with their growing family.

What’s Next for the Evans Family?

While the couple hasn’t made an official announcement about Alma Grace’s birth, fans worldwide are celebrating the news. The name “Alma Grace” carries beautiful significance—”Alma” means “soul” or “nourishing” in Spanish and Latin, while “Grace” embodies elegance and divine blessing.

As Chris potentially returns to the MCU for Avengers: Doomsday and Alba continues her acting projects, balancing Hollywood careers with parenthood will be their new adventure. Given their track record of maintaining privacy while pursuing professional excellence, they’ll likely navigate parenthood with the same grace their daughter’s name suggests.
