Did Vikram Take a Pay Cut?

According to industry tracker Mukil Vardhanan, Chiyaan Vikram has reportedly agreed to a salary of Rs 20 crore for Chiyaan63, which is lower than his remuneration for some previous films. The actor is said to have reduced his upfront fee owing to current market trends, while also expecting a pre-agreed share of the film’s profits, though this remains a report for now with no official confirmation.

First Look and What to Expect

Chiyaan63 was recently announced with a glimpse titled First Flame, featuring a dramatic, smoke-filled setup with Vikram’s character making a powerful entrance, set to an energetic track composed by Santhosh Narayanan. The teaser hinted at a massive action spectacle as production gets underway.

The film features Sarvam Maya actress Riya Shibu as the female lead, with MS Bhaskar and Urvashi in key roles, though an official release date is yet to be finalized. Martin Cid Magazine

A Long Road to This Project

Vikram’s journey to Chiyaan63 had a few twists. He had earlier announced his next project would be with debutant director Bodi Rajkumar as an action thriller, but no further updates emerged on that front. There were also earlier reports of a collaboration with director Madonne Ashwin, but that project now appears to have been shelved.

Vikram’s Recent Work

Chiyaan Vikram was last seen in Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, directed by SU Arun Kumar, also starring Dushara Vijayan, SJ Suryah, and Suraj Venjaramoodu. The film follows a former mobster turned shopkeeper who is pulled back into violence during a tense single-night conflict to protect his family, and is currently streaming on Prime Video.
