Team News and Availability
Chelsea will be without several key names for this fixture. Mykhaylo Mudryk remains suspended, while Roméo Lavia is a doubt with a knock. Estêvão is out with a hamstring injury expected to keep him sidelined into early August, and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is also doubtful. Juventus, by comparison, are missing just one player — Jeff Ekhator, who is out with a muscle injury until mid-August — giving the Bianconeri a relatively fuller squad to choose from.
Recent Form Guide
| Team | Last 5 Results |
|---|---|
| Chelsea | L 1-2 (Sunderland), W 2-1 (Tottenham), L 0-1 (Man City), D 1-1 (Liverpool), L 1-3 (Nottm Forest) |
| Juventus | W 1-0 (Standard Liège), D 0-0 (Basel), D 2-2 (Torino), L 0-2 (Fiorentina), W 1-0 (Lecce) |
Chelsea’s recent form has been shaky, with three losses in their last five outings, while Juventus have looked more defensively solid, though goals have also been hard to come by for both sides. Notably, Chelsea haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last five matches — a stat worth watching heading into this clash.
Match Prediction
With neither side having drawn any of their last three meetings, this fixture has a history of producing clear results. Given Chelsea’s defensive struggles and Juventus’s tighter recent form, expect a cagey, tightly contested match with Juventus holding a slight edge — though pre-season friendlies like this often serve more as fitness tests than results-driven contests, part of the broader tradition of clubs using pre-season tours to build match sharpness before their domestic campaigns begin.
How to Watch
