ChatGPT app is ruling the App Store after just a week from its release

OpenAI’s popular ChatGPT software was recently published on iOS in the United States. In its first week of availability, the app has made incredible progress, and the results are visible. Despite the fact that the software is only accessible to iOS users in the United States, ChatGPT has received nearly 500,000 downloads in less than a week.

According to data.ai research, OpenAI’s ChatGPT app received nearly half a million downloads in its first six days of release (via TechCrunch). This is a tremendous start for new software, making it one of the most popular apps this year and last. ChatGPT took its sweet time making its way to the App Store.

We’ve seen a plethora of clones and other AI apps on the platform that promises to serve the same goal. Furthermore, these apps took advantage of OpenAI’s absence as well as the ongoing demand for AI chatbots.

Despite these challenges, ChatGPT has emerged as one of the top-performing apps on the App Store.

The App Store also featured apps that mislead users into purchasing a subscription to use AI data. The success of the AI app extended to Microsoft’s Bing and Edge products, which included GPT-4 connectivity.

Take notice that Microsoft’s Bing and Edge apps led the list when all downloads in the United States were considered. However, based only on iOS installs, ChatGPT takes the lead.

The data also show how the numbers would increase if the software become accessible for Android. At this time, it is unclear when OpenAI will release the Android app, although the business has stated that it is in the works.

Furthermore, when ChatGPT is introduced in additional regions, the installs will grow even more. ChatGPT will eventually become one of the most popular AI apps on iOS and Android.
