Chand Mera Dil Advance Booking: Ananya Panday & Lakshya’s Romantic Drama Opens Tickets at Just ₹149 — A Smart Box Office Move?

Bollywood’s next big romantic release is right around the corner, and it’s taking a refreshingly audience-friendly approach. Chand Mera Dil, starring Lakshya and Ananya Panday and directed by Vivek Soni, is set to hit theatres on May 22, 2026 — and the makers are making sure price is no barrier to entry.

Chand Mera Dil Advance Booking — What Do the Early Numbers Say?

As of 11:45 PM on May 19, the film had sold around 3,500 tickets across the top two national chains — PVR Inox and Cinepolis — for opening day. Interestingly, this is already ahead of the early advance booking pace of the multi-starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. With two more days of booking open, the film is on track to sell around 25,000 tickets before release.

For a mid-budget romantic drama with relatively newer leads, that’s a genuinely encouraging signal.

The ₹149 Ticket Strategy — Genius or Risk?

The makers have introduced a smart pricing move — all shows before 5 PM on opening day (May 22) are priced at just ₹149, while evening shows are set at ₹199. This affordability factor is being cited as a key driver behind the early ticket momentum.

In a multiplex economy where a single ticket can easily cost ₹300–₹500, this kind of accessible pricing could genuinely pull in younger, casual audiences who might otherwise wait for OTT.

Will Word-of-Mouth Be the Real Game-Changer?

Based on current advance booking trends, the film has a solid chance of opening around the ₹4 crore mark — a commendable figure given the cast and budget involved. However, the film’s ultimate fate will heavily depend on its word-of-mouth post-release.

This is a pattern we see often with romantic dramas at the Indian box office — the opening sets the stage, but audience sentiment in the first 48 hours defines the trajectory. A well-received story with fresh chemistry can punch well above its weight class.
