The Premise: Heroism with a Bank Balance

Cashero follows Kang Sang-ung (Lee Jun-ho), an ordinary community center employee whose life transforms when he gains extraordinary powers. The catch? His superhuman strength is directly proportional to how much cash he carries—and every heroic act drains his wallet.

This unique twist adds financial stakes to traditional superhero storytelling. Imagine needing to calculate whether you can afford to save someone before acting. According to Netflix, this concept brings fresh relatability to the genre by connecting superpowers to everyday economic reality.

Sang-ung’s girlfriend Kim Min-suk (Kim Hye-jun), a mathematics expert, helps him calculate the monetary cost of each rescue mission. Together they navigate a hidden world where others possess similar conditional abilities.

Meet the Powered Squad

The drama introduces fascinating characters whose abilities come with quirky limitations. Byeon Ho-in (Kim Byung-chul), a lawyer, only accesses his powers after drinking alcohol. Bang Eun-mi (Kim Hyang-gi) gains telekinetic strength based on calorie intake—making her powers literally food-for-thought.

This diverse ensemble must unite against the Criminal Association, a dangerous organization targeting powered individuals. The cast also features Kang Han-na and Lee Chae-min in pivotal roles.

Why Cashero Matters for K-Drama Fans

Lee Jun-ho’s return marks his first major K-drama since the hit series King the Land (2023). His recent work in Typhoon Family received praise, raising expectations for Cashero. Fans have been tracking his projects through IMDb, where anticipation for this series has been building for months.

The show’s webtoon source material already has a loyal following, and the creative team—directors Lee Chang-min and writers Lee Jane with Jeon Chan-ho—bring impressive credentials to this adaptation.

For those interested in more Korean content streaming on Netflix, Cashero represents the platform’s continued investment in genre-diverse Korean productions beyond traditional romance and melodrama.
