Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Beta: Everything You Need to Know Before Friday

Friday can’t come soon enough. Call of Duty just dropped fresh intel on the Modern Warfare 4 Beta, and it’s packed with enough new content to make even veteran players recalibrate their loadouts. From a first-ever pre-launch Campaign mission to a completely reworked Create a Class system, here’s everything landing this weekend.

Call Of Duty: Beta Overview

The Big Changes This Year

The standout addition is the Campaign Beta debut — for the first time in franchise history, players get to try a Campaign mission, “Entrenched,” before the game even launches. It’s a tense scenario built around stopping a nuclear power station from falling into enemy hands.

Then there’s the Create a Class overhaul. Operators are now tied to each loadout individually rather than shared across builds, letting players juggle up to 12 distinct Custom Loadouts. A new Mobility Course gives players a dedicated space to master these mechanics before jumping into matches.

Progression also gets a shake-up with Apex Attachments, which unlock powerful weapon effects on fully-levelled guns without eating up an attachment slot. Pair that with Gunny, a new assistant that recommends builds from attachments you’ve already unlocked, and loadout optimization becomes far less of a guessing game.

For genre context, first-person shooters like Call of Duty have shaped competitive gaming for over two decades, a legacy detailed on Wikipedia’s first-person shooter page.
