The Call of Duty team published a new blog post recently that would detail the Primary characters, Secondary, and also strike weapons on offer in this forthcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 which is scheduled to launch on October 25th.
They also detail weapon unlocking and how players can make Global Weapon Builds. Players will have a total of 33 weapons to choose from, with 12 new entries exclusive to the franchise.
All About the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Weapons
Focusing on the weapon customization and Loadout creation experience, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is expected to feature a slimmer Weapons menu. The method makes an attempt to produce a more seamless gameplay experience for consumers. Weapon Leveling will also be appearing in upcoming updates to incentivize players to experiment and discover its eventual weapons, hopefully unlocking useful choices that make it along the way. The Gunsmith system will be less intimidating than in previous games.
There will be a variety of Primary Weapons, each with unique Attachments that players can expect to unlock as they level up the said weapons. In total, at launch, these are the types you can expect to find: seven Assault Rifles, six SMGs, two Shotguns, three LMGs, four Marksman Rifles, and three Sniper Rifles.
Interestingly, some of the Optics will be unlocked through methods other than just levelling up. Add to that the Overkill Wildcard which in effect lets you wield a second Primary Weapon as your Secondary weapon, should things get utterly out of hand.
The Secondary Weapons lineup will be more limited, with only four pistols and two launchers. Melee Weapons will be a choice between either a Knife or a Baseball Bat with it not being too likely that more options become available years down the road. The Gunsmith, however, is where you will have access to hundreds of cosmetics for weapon customization purposes so that the players can dress up their load-outs.
Weapons in Black Ops 6 will have weapon/locked weapons to be unlocked through player progression, which can always be seen on the Progression tab of the barracks menu. Each weapon will have unique attachments, some requiring special unlock criteria while others will be available right away to encourage experimentation. For further specifics on the launch weaponry, players can refer to the Call of Duty blog post.
