Activision has made a number of extensive announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which is releasing worldwide on October 25th, 2024. In a new post on the game’s blog, its publisher has detailed preload times, global launch hours, and minimum system requirements for PC as well as a surprisingly modest storage requirement of 102 GB.

The Upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Historically, Call of Duty games have been some of the largest on file – not least because Activision now mandates players install (the sizeable) battle royale Warzone alongside mainline releases. Activision has shockingly decided not to force everyone on PC into installing Warzone in a similar fashion, making the total SSD requirement for Black Ops 6 just about palatable at 102 GB.

Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty Black Ops 6 PC pre-orders will be allowed to preload the game ahead of its release with immediate access upon launch. All players can begin preloading at 9 AM PT on October 21 to download the full game package; which includes Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies modes.

The PC version’s launch times vary depending on the platform. It’s releasing regionally for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC players on October 24 from midnight local time to 11 a.m. PT with Microsoft Store access at various points throughout the day between 4 AM PT to 11 PM PT, depending on your location. For Steam and Battle, the doors open for Black Ops 6 at 9 PM PT on October 24.

Additionally, Black Ops 6 will be available on Game Pass, Microsoft’s subscription service, across console, PC, and cloud via Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. This marks the first Call of Duty title to launch on Game Pass on day one, following Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone will also become available on Game Pass via cloud on October 25, with Game Pass Ultimate required for cloud access.
