After the theatrical success of ‘Accident or Conspiracy’ Godhra is ready for OTT, and now makers revealed their next project. Named Calculator and set in the backdrop of a psychological thriller, is based on issues revolving around mental health and rape; being produced by B.J. Purohit this film marks an M.K. Shivaaksh directorial offering. A thrilling teaser has been unleashed on social media that set the pulses of excitement and response raising true high on its head.
Calculator: A Psychological Thriller
Backed by Om Trinetra Films, the film is said to be a mix of horror-thriller and psychological drama. The teaser starts with symbolic images of fish swimming in a pond as it shows how society is more into seeing but remaining silent.
It impresses upon us that rape is not just something done to your body, it stays with you for life. After scenes of emotional and physical violence, along with blood-stained hands; the teaser changed to a scared woman traumatized after being sexually assaulted. The question posed is: Can you calculate her pain? In just 1 minute and 20 seconds, the teaser delivers a powerful message about the issues of mental health and rape.
Calculator navigates the contemporary stigma of mental illness, exposing how society as a whole does not address or treat the traumatic histories of others. The film aims to raise awareness about mental health disorders while portraying the long-lasting trauma of sexual violence.
Producer B.J. Purohit said that the film has been inspired by society’s indifference and lack of sensitivity towards mental health issues. M.K. Shivaaksh, the director added that is through this film not attains a sensitive subject like rape but also maneuvers the societal approach and such justice must prevail at any cost.
But Calculator is a multi-lingual and will be distributed in Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu languages for its release scheduled next year. The cast will be revealed soon, and the film hopes to spark a conversation on these critical social concerns.
