There’s something universally relatable about a man who thought he made a smart career move — only to find himself standing in the middle of a muddy village field in his finest suit, whispering “Why am I here?” That’s the perfect opening scene for Cabbage Your Life, KBS2’s upcoming family comedy drama, and newly released stills showing Park Sung Woong and Lee Soo Kyung navigating their hilariously chaotic adjustment to rural life have sent anticipation through the roof.

What the New Stills Show

The newly released images capture the everyday reality of Sung Tae Hoon and Jo Mi Ryeo’s married life in the Yeonriri village — a far cry from the Seoul routine they once knew. The stills radiate a lived-in warmth that comes naturally when actors have worked together three times before. Park Sung Woong looks every bit the bewildered city man slowly making peace with his situation, while Lee Soo Kyung channels the unflappable, quietly heroic energy of a mother who turns every crisis into an opportunity.

The Story: Seoul Family vs. Village Reality

Sung Tae Hoon worked his way up the corporate ladder through sheer merit and became a proud manager at a large company. But when his reputation takes a hit, he volunteers for a transfer to the rural village of Yeonriri — believing it’s a short-term image fix that will fast-track his return to Seoul. He was not prepared for actual mud. Actual cabbages. And absolutely zero urban conveniences.

His wife Jo Mi Ryeo is a super-mom who raised their three sons solo while Tae Hoon was tied to work, and also built a career as an influencer on the side. When she returns from Canada with the boys and discovers the predicament her husband has landed them all in, she doesn’t panic — she rolls up her sleeves and figures it out, because that’s just who she is.

Adding a second layer of storytelling gold: their eldest son Sung Ji Cheon (Lee Jin Woo) secretly dropped out of medical school after getting a perfect score on his entrance exams, and is now using the village relocation as cover to find his real path. He also falls in love — at first sight — with Im Bo Mi (Choi Gyu Ri), the daughter of the village chief who openly clashes with Tae Hoon at every turn.

It’s the kind of Korean family drama that layers warm comedy over genuine emotional depth — and with Park Sung Woong already joking at the script reading that he’s used to “burying people, not cabbage,” the chemistry on set promises something special.
