Not every love story is clean. Not every relationship is simple. And “About Love” — the C-drama quietly winning hearts in 2026 — understands that better than almost anything currently streaming.

Why “About Love” Stands Out From the Crowd
“About Love” navigates your typical girl-meets-boy story, but also brings a colorful and complex mixture of relationships that will make you realize that modern love could have more than one happy ending.
The premise alone is clever: Li Xiao Xi is a charming woman who has never experienced love herself — but after witnessing how men can never be trusted, she helps women test the loyalty of their partners, earning her a reputation as a heartless vixen. She thinks she knows everything about relationships. Then she meets Xiao Bei — and realises she knows nothing at all.
Xiao Bei looks serious and cold on the outside but is kind and caring within — and as a luxury items appraiser, he can easily tell apart the fake from the real deal, naturally discovering Xiao Xi’s true value. The metaphor practically writes itself.
Where It Gets Really Interesting
The drama’s real genius lies in its complications. Just months into their blissfully happy relationship, Xiao Xi realises that one of Xiao Bei’s closest friends is her former client’s ex-boyfriend — a man who hasn’t been able to forget her and claims to be profoundly in love with her.
The story isn’t only about feelings — it is about trust, communication, insecurities, hidden truths, half-told lies, hopes, fears, and much more. In short, it is about human nature.
The secondary couples — a fractured marriage, an unresolved situationship — add further emotional texture. It’s the kind of layered storytelling that defines the best of Chinese television drama, a genre that has rapidly expanded its global audience in recent years.
